How I Lost 6lbs Without Sacrificing Pizza and Beer!

How I Lost 6lbs Without Sacrificing Pizza and Beer!

I’m probably going to be giving away my deepest coaching secrets with this but you know what, it’s been a while since I feel like I’ve created some WOW content so I decided to let everything be revealed tonight.

Lets start things off with a question…

Why, during diet periods, do we feel the need to starve ourselves, eat nothing but salads or chicken/rice/veggies, and workouts relentlessly?

SCREW THAT!!!!

Listen, losing weight comes down to simple mathematics. Let me explain…

I’ll provide a picture below for my visual learners but we all know that losing fat (if everything physiologically is healthy) is about energy balance aka burning more than what you take in.

BIG REVEAL…*drumroll please*

So, if you are going to have a few extra calories one night (notice I said one and not three or four) because you go out with a few friends to decompress from the work week, take those excess calories you consumed and reduce them out periodically over the next week so you don’t end up consuming more than your total recommended weekly calories.

Need me to clarify? No problem. Just call me Professor Taz 🙂

Now, if you can understand my chicken scratch handwriting, step 1 is obviously knowing what your maintenance calories should be then reducing calories from that so you are in a deficit.

Now, just to clarify, I don’t suggest jumping straight into a 500 calories per day deficit since that can cause a series of problems early on in the dieting journey. I typically support a smaller deficit, such as 200-250.

Knowing what our deficit should be (in this case, mine is 2250 per day), that is a total of 15,700 calories I can consume from food or drink each week. Now, for the most part, I eat three big meals per day, so dividing 2250 calories per day between those 3 meals brings me to 750 calories I can consume for each meal.

Let’s continue to use me as an example; my wife and I are serious about going out on date night once per week where we have a “fun food” plus a few drinks. For the sake of time, I typically will consume from the pizza and beer an excess of 500 calories OVER the already allowed 750 for that dinner.(Lost 6lbs)
